Yes. Ceramic coatings can be applied to both new and older vehicles. However, older vehicles often benefit from paint correction first to remove swirl marks and imperfections so the coating can bond properly and deliver the best results.

 

How should I wash a ceramic coated vehicle?

Ceramic coated vehicles should be hand washed using a pH-neutral car shampoo and a microfiber wash mitt. Avoid automatic drive-through car washes, as the brushes can create swirl marks and slowly degrade the coating over time.

 

Does ceramic coating eliminate the need to wash my car?

No. While ceramic coatings make your vehicle much easier to clean because of their hydrophobic properties, the vehicle will still need regular washing to remove dirt and contaminants.

 

How can I remove bird droppings or contaminants between washes?

If bird droppings, bug splatter, or other contaminants land on the vehicle, it’s best to remove them as soon as possible. You can use a clean microfiber towel with a quick detail spray or water to gently wipe the area and prevent the contaminants from sitting on the paint for too long.
